A Revamp of a Classic Mid-Century Modern by A. Quincy Jones

IN DEVELOPMENT 2026

Originally designed by renowned architect A. Quincy Jones, this Brentwood residence is undergoing a thoughtful restoration aimed at returning the home to its original architectural intent while adapting it for contemporary family living. The project honors Jones’s modernist principles, clarity of structure, connection to landscape, and quiet elegance, while carefully integrating necessary upgrades and corrections from decades of piecemeal additions.

Respecting the Original Vision

Our approach has been deliberate and measured: studying the home’s original proportions, spatial rhythms, and material sensibilities, then working carefully to reconcile later interventions into a cohesive whole. The goal has been restoration through refinement, preserving what matters while removing what distracts.

Modernization with Architectural Sensitivity

While rooted in architectural history, the home is being reconfigured to function seamlessly for a new generation. Spaces are adjusted to improve flow, clarity, and everyday usability without compromising the calm, horizontal qualities that define Jones’s work. The result is a home that feels both restored and renewed, faithful to its origins, yet fully prepared for modern family life.
